Storage Virtualisation Advantage Is the Key to Channel Success for EqualLogic

LONDON, 16th August 2006, EqualLogic, a leading provider of complete, enterprise-class iSCSI storage area networks (SANs), today announced a pan-European drive to recruit VMWare channel specialists. Following increasing customer demand for its PS Series storage arrays coupled with the virtualisation technology, the company views VMWare specialisation as a key aspect of its channel and business growth strategy moving forward.

According to Gartner, in its June 2006 report; “How Server Virtualization Benefits Midsize Businesses”: a majority of small and midsize businesses (SMBs) have indicated that they are reducing their server population by nearly 25 percent or more by using server virtualisation technology.  It predicts that by 2007, 40 percent of midsize businesses will reduce their server population by at least 20 percent through virtualisation.
