EqualLogic Ranks Second in 2005 Global iSCSI SAN Market

EqualLogic Advances to Number Two Position in iSCSI Storage Terabytes Shipped According to Leading Research Firm's Disk Storage Systems Report

Nashua, N.H., June 20, 2006 - EqualLogic®, a leading provider of enterprise-class iSCSI storage area network (SAN) solutions, today announced it has been ranked number two in worldwide iSCSI SAN terabytes shipped in 2005, according to the most recent IDC report on worldwide disk storage systems. The report, "IDC Worldwide Disk Storage Systems 2006-2010 Forecast and Analysis, May 2006, #201596" reveals EqualLogic's growing presence in the iSCSI SAN market and forecasts the growth of the worldwide disk storage system market over the next five years.

EqualLogic ranks second after Network Appliance and ahead of EMC based on iSCSI SAN terabytes shipped in 2005. The ranking marks EqualLogic's advancement from its number three position in 2004. EqualLogic now owns 19 percent of the market as measured in terabytes. In addition, EqualLogic's revenue more than tripled in 2005. As a result, the IDC report credits EqualLogic with a 14.4 percent share of the 2005 iSCSI SAN disk systems market measured by revenue - an increase over 2004 compared to Network Appliance's and EMC's market share loss. In worldwide total SAN1 storage system terabytes, EqualLogic ranks ninth, establishing the company as a significant presence in the storage industry.

"The demand for networked storage is growing every year, with iSCSI SANs forecast to remain the fastest-growing segment of the storage industry through 2010," said Brad Nisbet, program manager at IDC. "iSCSI is a disruptive technology enabling a new generation of SANs that will appeal to a large population of mid-size companies by offering a SAN infrastructure that is inexpensive and simple to deploy."

"It is significant that EqualLogic expanded its share of the fastest growing market in the storage industry while key competitors lost ground," said Don Bulens, president and CEO of EqualLogic. "Beyond the widespread acceptance of iSCSI as an enterprise-worthy networked storage protocol, what is driving EqualLogic's phenomenal growth is that we have made buying, deploying and managing SANs so much easier without compromising reliability and performance. We have the ideal value proposition in a market hungry for a storage solution that just works."

EqualLogic delivers a dynamic virtual storage solution to companies of all sizes, offering a reliable, self-managing, scalable pool of storage that responds nimbly to users' demands.
